Mosuo traditional food experience

Pork Fat
Pork fat is a staple dish for the Mosuo people, known for its fragrant, non-greasy taste. It is made by removing the internal organs and bones from a slaughtered adult fat pig, seasoning with salt and peppercorns, stitching it back together, and pressing it into a pipa shape. This preserved pork fat can last for several years.
Pig Blood Sausage
In Mosuo language, pig blood sausage is called "Habu." It is made by mixing pig blood, green onion, ginger, garlic, salt, and plate oil with half-cooked rice, filling it into the pig's large intestine, and steaming it.
Pickled sour fish

Pickled sour fish is a traditional delicacy of the Ninglang Mosuo and Pumi families. The fish is cleaned, layered in a clay pot with tsampa noodles, salt, and other ingredients, sealed, and left in a cool place for 10 to 15 days. It can be eaten raw, stir-fried, or boiled with chili peppers for a hot and sour soup, offering a delicious and refreshing taste.
Day 2
Watch the sunrise over the lake, then enjoy a scenic drive or hike around Lugu Lake. Take a horseback ride through the wetlands or hike the west bank for a 360-degree view of the lake.
In the afternoon, take a boat ride in a Mosuo canoe, visit the Tibetan Buddhist temple on Lizhibi island, or try fishing and horseback riding along the lake shores.
Alternatively, craft traditional Mosuo handicrafts in a textile workshop.
In the late afternoon, return to Lijiang.
